About Barbara Thomas
We are thrilled to have Artist Barbara Thomas at LongHouse Reserve this summer.
Barbara attended The Art Students League and Pratt Institute in New York, and received her MFA from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, Boston, MA.
Barbara’s work explores the natural world and man’s relationship to it. Her subjects include earth and sky, flora and fauna, and seasons. Working mostly in traditional media, oil paint and gouache watercolor, she renders her views of the elements of nature with detail and attention.
Barbara’s work also delves into contemporary media—digital photography and video, as well as experiments in direct use of land in her work.
