Art Foray II - Discover Art in the Gardens

Opening Reception

Cost:

FREE – $20.00 per person

Duration:

2h

Art Foray, the runaway hit at LongHouse in 2020, returns this year with a new roster of celebrated artists who have hidden their work within the Reserve. Curated by Scott Bluedorn with the guidance of the LongHouse Council, Art Foray II combines art, nature, and exploration for a unique scavenger hunt for families, individuals and the young, as well as the young at heart.

Our opening night party will include refreshments provided by Big Geyser Inc and North Fork Potato Chips as well as music by Gian Carlo Feleppa. Get a head start on your search on August 20 and be entered into our 7pm drawing for a LongHouse Family Membership!

Art Foragers are invited to follow photo clues to discover a piece of original art hidden on the LongHouse grounds and the chance to win it! This year's Art Foray begins on August 20 at 5pm and continues through October 9 with plenty of time in between for art foraging. With the help of the LongHouse map and the Art Foray pamphlet, art explorers will search, find, and photograph their discoveries, then post their findings on Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #longhouseartforay to be eligible to win. Participants may also email their findings to info@longhouse.org to enter the contest. Winners will be selected by a random drawing on Saturday, October 9 at 4pm and will be notified by LongHouse. Winning artwork can be collected during open hours. Join us for refreshments for the opening of this exciting, art-filled event!

The invited artists for Art Foray II includes: Scott Bluedorn, Chelsea Hrynick Browne, Saskia Friedrich, Mamoun Friedrich-Grosvernor, Mariah Keolani, Bastienne Schmidt, Jonathan Shlafer, Aurelio Torres, and Robin Gianis.
