Winter in East Hampton can be cold and snowy, or mild and sunny, and anything in between.  We started the week with frigid temperatures followed by a couple of mild days and this morning we woke to a coating of snow.

Each day the garden presents itself anew, with the assistance of winter's variations of weather so that even in January there is always color, texture and visual interest, not to mention peace and tranquility.
