LongHouse Stages LHR Collections 2015

This exhibit in the spacious pavilion, opens April 25th to run through July 11th. Although the East Hampton foundation is best known for its large gardens and sculpture outdoors, but - it has been since the beginning – an accredited museum. Vast holdings mostly of furnishings and works in craft media include ethnography.

The current show with fifty works includes notable pieces contemporary ceramics and 20th century furniture. A spectacular silvered Chihuly is shown and a fine 1940 bookcase from the home of Bruno Mathsson - Sweden’s top furniture maker. Fine works from the Katzenberg and Arthur Mason families are included.
