Opera al Fresco with Maestro Eve Queler and friends, returned to LongHouse on August 5 for another spectacular evening of opera arias and duets.

Maestro Queler was joined by two performers, coloratura soprano, Eglise Gutiérrez and tenor, Marco Cammarota.  Ms. Gutiérrez, who has sung the most challenging of operas in prestigious venues world-wide,  has been named by Opera News as “one of opera’s next wave.” Mr. Cammarota is currently a resident artist at the Academy of Vocal Artists in Philadelphia, having achieved  particular success in the Italian and French repertoire. He recently made his Kennedy Center debut in a one-hour special performance of Bizet’s Carmen, designed for children.

Both performers delivered dramatic performances that thrilled audience goers with selections from works by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti and  Bellini.

This evening was made possible by the generous support of John Githens.
