On Saturday, May 3rd, at 3:00 pm, join us for a presentation by Kevin Wiecks who will discuss his career in public horticulture and the importance of informed plant selection in relation to creating meaningful impact in the public landscape.

Kevin was appointed the the Director of Bayard Cutting Arboretum in October 2021. For four years prior, he was the arboretum’s Landscape Curator. He was responsible for plant selection and acquisition, as well as design and maintenance of plant collections throughout the arboretum. Kevin has an extensive history in public horticulture, working in many different types of gardens. He was the Horticulturist at The Cloisters, Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Managing Horticulturist at Long House Reserve in East Hampton; and the Senior Gardener at Randall’s Island, NYC. Kevin holds a B.S. in Horticulture from Cornell University and is an ISA Certified Arborist. He is also on the Board of NY Hortus, The Long Island Gold Medal Plant Committee and a Professor of Woody Plants at Farmingdale State College.
